David Green {The Reel Mechanic} Catching chunky black bass in early spring is my favorite time. Here's a chunk from Marion County Lake taken on a pumpkin/chart. 7" Worm, early spring 02. |

Penny Green {Owner/Mgr. of The Reel Mechanic} Oh son! nothing like the fight of an 8lb. cat on spinning tackle. Now here is a fish story, this cat was taken in the dead of summer 02 from Marion County Lake. Taken on a silver tinsel-spin spinner-bait in a foot and a half of water. That was a 15 min. fight. The big cat was spawning and released in her spot to finish her task. Quality fishing there. |

David Green {The Reel Mechanic} Ah spring time pre-spawn top-water spots. Caught this 17", 31/2lb. in March of 03, on a 3x pearl white zulu, from Marion County Lake. These babies have strong shoulders and fight like a smallmouth.
FYI the Kansas state record spot came from this lake! Bass, Spotted (Kentucky)

Fly rod with medium popper.... I got close. I know there is a new record in there. |

Penny Green {Owner/Mgr. of The Reel Mechanic} Not only big cats, but here she is with one of many bass for this early spring outing in 03, on Marion County Lake. She is one of the best all species anglers I know. |
