All ABEC-5 bearings that are routinely serviced and properly lubricated, should allow your reel to perform at it's best.
The rest is up to you.

How To Maintain & When To Replace Your Bearings

Q: What is the best way to maintain my bearings?
A:
1) Soak your bearings in acetone or quality de-greaser to remove any grease or particulants.
2) Blow bearing out with compressed air.
3) Place a single drop of quality reel oil on the bearing.
4)Give the bearing a spin..
If they still feel rough/stiff repeat steps 1-3.

Please Note: Ultra-Sonic or other cleaning devices work well, but we find that the above 3 steps are the best way to completely dissolve the dirt that gets under the retainer.

Q: When should I replace my bearings?
A: If you have gone through the cleaning steps outlined above and your bearings begin to feel gritty, rough, or binding to the touch, they should be replaced. When bearings sit idle for a long time (Winter Storage), they must be protected from any and all moisture. This is a common problem when storing your reels without good covers or in a dry case. If any moisture has gotten to the bearings as they are stored, they will need to be replaced before using the reel again.
