ABEC 5 specification Stainless Steel replacement bearings for most of the reels I service. These bearings are made to closer tolerances than stock bearings, and in most cases, they are also less expensive than the factory bearings I get. Replacement of stock bearings with ABEC 5 Stainless Steel bearings, properly lubricated with my quality reel oil, can make a significant improvement in a reels performance resulting in:

Smoother over all reel operation
Noticeably longer casts and pitches

But no matter what reel, proper Maintenance and adjustment of your spool shaft end play and centrifugal brake weights or magnetic brakes,
will be a must to realize the benefits of the ABEC5 or any bearing upgrades.

Measure the bearing packs you intend on upgrading (IDxODxW),
then select the required bearing sizes for your reel from my selection tables below.
